COFRET sets out the importance of electronic data exchange for the calculation of carbon footprint along a transport chain

Date: 21/5/2012

The COFRET consortium was pleased to be able to present the significant opportunity that exists to link the emergence of electronic data transfer between different operators in the supply chain and the calculation of the carbon footprint for complete transport chains. The paper presented COFRET's progress towards a unified approach to carbon footprinting of supply chains and discussed issues including the linking of supply chain elements, handling organisational boundaries, emissions allocation and electronic data interchange.

The presentation was made at the recent e-freight conference and provides an important link between the work of these two European Commission funded projects. To view the presentation please click here
